This year the challenge was completed by 20 riders, representing 7 different nations.  The riders cycled 300 km and climbed more than 7500 vertical metres through the beautiful mountainous areas of Xiang Khouang and Xaisomboune provinces. 

The first Team Dai Challenge was completed in 2008.  Since then, Team Dai has cycled through the amazing landscapes of Laos and raised more than 200,000 USD for local organizations supporting Lao people, including support to land mine removal operations, elephant conservation centres, women’s shelters, orphanages, schools, and hospitals. 

Team Dai is a non-registered group of individual cycling enthusiasts based in Vientiane capital.  The annual challenge, which often has included riders from abroad, is planned and executed by volunteers.  Funds are raised through corporate sponsorships and private donations. While riders cover all cost of the ride, 100% all funds raised are forwarded directly to the charity every year.  

Team Dai is very proud to announce the final amount of 15,143 USD raised for the Children’s Hospital in Luang Prabang, which will have a huge impact on the lives of children in northern Laos
